Principal's Message

Welcome to Paauilo School Website.  We welcome your visit and encourage you to reach out to us at 9=808-776-7710 to learn more about our school.  We are using the time this summer to prepare our campus for the upcoming school year.
School Year 2021-2022
Our year is off to a great start.  We are one month into the school year.  My message to our staff is focused on two things: keep everyone safe and let's make things as normal as possible.  We have heard so much about "new normal" and terms along those lines.  To me normal means doing things the way that Paauilo has done things before COVID, but with a focus on safety.
Safety Items:  We are implementing layered mitigation strategies.
1.  Encouraging and supporting vaccination for all eligible individuals.
2.  Mask wearing.  Cloth masks should be two layers, so neck gaiters must be doubled.  Disposable masks should be replaced daily.
3.  Frequent handwashing:  Students are directed to wash hands upon arrival and at regular intervals during the day.  Hand sanitizing stations are all over campus.
4.  Social Dstance:  To the greatest extent possible in classrooms and the cafeteria, moving around campus and standing in lines.
Drop off/pick up:  Thank you for your support and patience in this process.  We must say we all enjoy greeting all of our families each day.
Assigned Seats:  In classrooms and at lunch students have assigned seats.  This will assist in the event that contract tracing needs to occur.
Open House/Parent Nights:  We are working on looking at times we can hold virtual meetings to meet as a group.
Annual Events:  Christmas Program, May Fest, Graduation, Blue and White Fair.  While we hope these events are able to be held, safety of all is the greatest priority. We will make decisions about each one as it approaches and do what is safest.  Like you, we all look forward to the day when we can all gather again.
Take care.  Wear your mask.  Wash your hands.  Keep your distance.
