Aloha Parents/Guardians/Families and School Community,
School Community Councils (SCC) play a vital role in Hawaii’s education system. They are part of the leadership structure at each school; they enable shared-decision making among principals, teachers, school staff, parents, students, and community members to improve student achievement.
School Community Councils are forums for exchanging ideas about how to improve student achievement among the school’s stakeholders: principals, teachers, school staff, parents, students, and community members. They help craft the school's Academic and Financial Plan (AcFin). The AcFin establishes the goals and programs for the school, and helps allocate available resources to operate programs to fulfill the school's goals.
Please feel free to contact any of our members with any questions, concerns, comments, suggestions, brave new ideas, etc. for how to improve the educational experience for children at our school. It takes a village to educate a child, and we greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
