Aloha Pa‘auilo Families,
This is an update on device distribution. On Friday, we distributed 92 devices to parents who expressed a need for those tools to allow their children to access their continued learning. We also distributed 102 paper packets to parents. All students that did not have a packet picked up will receive their packet in the mail. All packets were mailed out this weekend so you should be seeing them in your physical mailboxes soon.
Teachers will also be communicating with you electronically this week to send electronic copies of the continuity of education packets as well. We want all of our students to have access to continued learning opportunities but would like to eliminate the need for mailing packets to families for whom the electronic method is sufficient. With this in mind, I will be sending out a survey on Wednesday to gather your input about whether or not your child will need the paper packets or if the electronic distribution will work for you for the weeks to come.
We have about 50 devices that were prepared for distribution but were not picked up on Friday so we will be distributing those devices on Tuesday, March 31 between 7:00 and 2:00. Because we have significantly fewer families that will need to pick up devices, the timeline will be will not be as structured and you can come anytime on Tuesday between 7:00 and 2:00. You may also remain at your car with your lights on indicating that you need someone to bring the device to your car. If you do get out of your car, please do not come beyond the stairway in front of the office. We will bring devices and release forms to you. If you arrive at the same time as other families, please exercise social distancing while you wait for us to help all of you.
Thank you for all of your support.
