Grading Expectations for 3rd  Grade

Pa’auilo Elementary and Intermediate School

2019-2020 School Year

 

 

Grading Scale:       Meets with Excellence= 90-100%                       Meets Proficiency=80-89%

Developing Proficiency =60-79%                         Well Below Proficiency= 0-59%

Writing

Writing will be based on two or more writing samples per quarter in the areas of opinion, informative/explanatory, and narratives. We will also use Lucy Calkins Units of Study and use her rubrics for grading purposes.  (using averages and weighted equally)

Speaking and Listening

Based on checklists provided by Reading Wonders. Areas included are class discussions, partner talk, and independent activities. (using averages and weighted equally)

Language

Weekly Spelling, Vocabulary, and Grammar Assessments (using averages and weighted equally)

Mathematic Domains

 

 

Grades will be based on domains covered on Module posttests and Quarterly tests for each quarter. (using averages)
