HIDOE extends Learn from Home distance learning through first quarter

The Department announced earlier that most schools would shift the majority of instruction to distance learning for at least the first four weeks of the academic year. This new announcement extends that by three weeks for the remainder of the first quarter.

What this change means is that Paauilo School students who are currently learning from home will continue their distance learning for the rest of the first quarter. Specific schedules for your child(ren)'s virtual classes and assignments will continue to be communicated to you by the teachers.

By now all students should have logged in to virtual classes with their teachers who have been working to build routines and begin instruction. Assessments have also begun and I ask that you please help to supervise your children when they are doing their assessments. Please do not help them on assessments or exams because teachers need to know where their gaps and misconceptions are in order to help them learn.

If they are struggling or you need additional support or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child(ren)'s teacher(s), our office, or me directly.

We appreciate all of your support during this challenging time!

Mahalo,
Mrs. Barber
