I am looking forward to the new school year. I love to teach young people who have a desire to better themselves by making a personal investment in their education. I promise to work hard for you. I will provide students with the educational opportunity I would want my own child to have.

Professional Experience

Current Position:

I have been at Pa’auilo School since 2017. I am currently teaching fifth grade.

Previous Position:

I completed my student teaching at E. B. de Silva Elementary (6th grade, 2016-2017). Prior to teaching, I worked in compliance and risk management at Hawaii First Federal Credit Union in Hilo and Waimea for 9 years.

Family Information:

My beautiful wife Heather (who is also a teacher ;) and I have been married for 10 years, although we've technically been together for over 20 (We were middle school sweethearts!). We both moved to Hawaii from our hometown in Lancaster California to attend college at Uh Hilo in 2003. We’ve continued living on the Big Island for the past 15 years. We have two children- Jackson (age 7), and Dustin (age 4). We are very proud of them.

Personal Information:

Over the course of my life I have done many different things. I'm sort of a Jack-of-all-trades but master of none. I have done lots of traveling, camping, hiking, building, remodeling, cooking, playing in a rock band and various sports. I also enjoy sailing, surfing, diving, fishing and generally anything water related. I love to teach students to write, explore and imagine.
